If you want to buy bridesmaid dresses online, you need to choose the dress according to your body types. So here I will tell you how to measure for bridesmaid dresses.
1. Measure your bustline. Not the bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. Wear a bra when taking this measurement.
2. Take the tape around the smallest part of your waist. Typically it's an inch or so above your belly button. Keep the tape slightly loose to allow for breathing room. Also known as the natural waistline.
3. Hip size. Take the tape around the widest part of your hips. (The tape should brush across both hipbones) Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline.
4. Shoulder to Shoulder. Take the tape from the edge of the shoulder socket to the same point on the other shoulder. (Measure across the back)
5. Shoulder to Floor. Take the tape from the top of your shoulder through the nipple to floor with the shoes you wear on that day. You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.
6.Height with Shoes. Take the tape from the top of the head through the nipple to floor with the shoes you wear on that day. You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.
When you have your measurements, check the corresponding size chart of the shop you want to buy dresses in. If the chart puts you in one size for bust and another for hips, it is usually recommended to order the larger size, because it is easier to alter a dress to a smaller size than to make it larger.
